Happy Birthday Angie!
Odds and Ends, Pictures|
While it’s true that I do love Angelina Jolie, I have not gone off the deep end. Yes, there’s a good chance that I will buy a magazine if she is on the cover, and D did get me this autographed photo as a birthday gift because he knows that his wife loves Angelina Jolie, and I did drive out to Long Island to watch the taping of The Good Shepherd and after hours of waiting she finally arrived and waved for two seconds before going inside the house and I was so excited because I saw her in person and managed to take a bad photo where you can barely see her plus another photo of her back, and even my mom asked me the other day if I still like “that Angelina” so much to which I replied “yes” while my sister snickered and said, “She’s obsessed”. But I’m really not that bad. I haven’t even seen some of her movies which is proof enough that I’ve got this thing under control.
As for how this photo came about:
Me: Hey, I just read that Angelina Jolie’s birthday is June 4th.
D: We should have a birthday party.
Me: Yeah, with cake and candles.
D: Do we even have birthday candles?
Me: No, be we could use a match.
D: And we could sing Happy Birthday. I’m willing to do it if it means a lot to you.
Me: …No, I’m not that obsessed, but it would be a funny photo.

Angelina is a sexual goddess. But making a cake and singing happy birthday, hmm, perhaps signs of a small obsession.

Nah, the photo’s a joke. Our friends had brought pastries when they came over earlier that day, so I decided to take advantage of the “cake” and take a funny shot. There was no singing, just a bit of giggling.

[…] We finally had some time earlier today, and popped in the movie while enjoying a lazy pizza dinner. But then D had to go see a client and by the time he gets back I will most likely be asleep. He also got roped into driving upstate and back tomorrow as a family favor, and Thursday he has to go see a client on the far side of Long Island. And I realize that Beowulf the movie is not exactly a cinematic miracle, and I probably wouldn’t have even rented it if it wasn’t for the fact that Angelina is in it (or at least her voice and digital rendering), but doesn’t it just suck to have to stop a movie halfway and not know when you’ll watch the rest?
